আপনি যখন ভাববেন, এই দেশে আসলে কিছু হবে না, তখন শুধু আপনার মাধ্যমে যে এখানে কিছু হবে না সেটা নিশ্চিত। আপনিও হতাশ আবার আপনার কথা শুনে আরেকজনও হতাশ হয়ে যাচ্ছে। আমরা কি আসলেই তামাশার জাতি? এই প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেয়ার আগে বুঝতে হবে আমাদের সমস্যাটা কোথায়? সমস্যা আমাদের মানসিকতায় আর মানবিকতায়। আমদের মানসিকতা দিনদিন হীন হয়ে পড়ছে (পূর্বে এমন ছিল না)। তার পেছনের মূল কারন হল লোভ আর দাম্ভিকতার উচ্চাশা। সমাজ ব্যবস্থায় সামর্থ্য মানুষকে দাম্ভিক করে তোলে, আর পৃথিবীময় এই চিত্র একই। একটি উদাহরণ দিয়ে বলি, একটি গ্রামে শুধু দুটো পরিবারে মনমালিন্য, কিন্তু কোন ঝগড়া নেই। হঠাৎ, সামর্থ্যবান পরিবারটি দাম্ভিক হয়ে হীন মানসিকতার পরিচয় দিল। অপর পরিবারের রাস্তা আটকানোর জন্য নিজের জমির উপর উঁচু প্রাচীর তুলে দিল। ফলে শুধু ওই পরিবার নয়, তার পেছনে যতগুলো বাড়ি ছিল সবাই চলাচলের পথ হারাল। আবার প্রাচীর উঁচু হওয়ায় অসংখ্য মানুষ নদীর হাওয়া থেকে বঞ্চিত হল। ফলাফল হল দুর্বিষহ গরম এবং চলাচল বন্ধ। অথচ সেই দাম্ভিক পরিবারটির কেউই গ্রামে থাকেন না। এতে কি বা লাভ হল? ক্ষতি ছাড়া কিছুই হল না। এরকম অনেক ঘটনা আছে। আমরা চাই নিজেকে দাম্...

নতুন বছরে শুভেচ্ছা জানানো একধরনের সৌহার্দ্যপূর্ণ রীতি হলেও এর গ্রহনযোগ্যতা আসলে কতটুকু সেটা নিয়ে আসলেই আমার সন্দেহ আছে। পৃথিবীতে প্রতিবছর এই সময়টায় শুভ জিনিসের কামনা করা হলেও বছর শেষে দেখা যায়, তিক্ততা বছর পরিবর্তনের সাথে সাথে পাল্লা দিয়ে বাড়ছে। মানুষ বলে, যায় দিন ভালো, আসে দিন খারাপ। তাই এই সন্দেহ আরকি! তারপরও মানুষ আশায় বাঁচে। আশাই জীবন। যা হোক একটা কিছু বলতে ইচ্ছে করছে। সবাই তো কত আশা করে, আমার একটি আশা একটু ভিন্নরকম। আমরা অনেকেই এটি এড়িয়ে চলে যাই। এটা হয়ত আমাদের জীবনটা শুভ ও সুন্দর করতেও পারে।   আমি মনে করি চেষ্টা আর সহযোগিতা একে অন্যের পরিপূরক। এটা আবার কি? বলছি। আমরা যা করি, আমরা যা মানি তার সবকিছুতেই আমরা অন্যের চেয়ে আলাদা বললেও আমরা আসলে অন্যেরটা অনুকরণের চেষ্টা করি। যেমন, কেউ অভিনেতা উত্তমকুমার হতে চান, বা কেউ লিঙ্কিন পার্ক এর মত মানুষকে মাতাতে চান। সবাই এরকম কিছু না কিছু হতে চান। এখানে দোষের কিছু নাই। কারন এটি তার অনুপ্রেরণার জায়গা। তাই চেষ্টাটা শুরু হয়। এটা ভালো। বলে রাখা ভালো যে সবাইকে এক মাপকাঠিতে একি জিনিস বিচার করে মাপা যায় না। যেমন, ১ কেজিতে ৭-৮ আপেল পা...

I liked it the most because these few lines have good messages for us to think about again.  The sea is common for all, and the world is common to all. As human beings, we live on Earth; no extraterrestrial living being has yet not been proven. That is why this earth, as well as the world, is only our living place. We have yet to go beyond it. Humans of this world are somehow connected to oceans and seas. Most of the nations and dynasties in the past are grown up based on the sea. For what?  The sea or ocean has the highest natural resources. As the follow-up lines say, some take pearls, fish, etc. That means some are hunting for food and resources for selling. Survival and living purposes are connected to the sea and the ocean. And yes, this is a kind of universal culture of the world. People have depended on the ocean directly and indirectly for these purposes.  People like to visit the sea as a traveler....
